Ban on grazing, street hawking, begging must be enforced – FCT minister

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammad Bello on Monday said laws prohibiting cattle grazing, begging, street hawking and commercial motorcycle in the city needs to be enforced by security operatives.

He stated this on Monday in Abuja after an emergency FCT Security Committee meeting.

He said the security agencies have to carry out their functions in line with the government’s ‘change agenda’.

He also commended the security agencies for “the high-level intelligence sharing that has so far assisted the administration to nip in the bud any security breach in the territory.”

The committee condemned the attack on the Vocational and Rehabilitation Centre, Bwari aimed at freeing some of the inmates at the centre.

It also advised owners of uncompleted building to ensure security around them to avoid miscreants from using them as hideouts.
