Last night, on the Big Brother Naija show, the Housemates enjoyed the second week of Big Brother’s famous Saturday night parties. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a massive upgrade from how dull last week’s was, but there was a bit of an improvement. But, as it is with the Big Brother parties, the after party drama is why folks stay awake, and last night’s drama was quite interesting.
Pere and Maria, both of whom, through out the week, have been undecided about what to do with the attraction that exist between them, addressed the subject after the party. Luckily, they had dear old Gordons to help ignite the conversation. That being said, most of what they discussed seemed to have been under the influence, and may not hold much water.
However, Maria confronted Pere about their relationship, to which he responded that at this point, he wants nothing from her, not the relationship he was pushing for prior, and not even a friendship, he just wants to have nothing to do with her.
Maria didn’t seem keen on the idea of ending their friendship, and kept asking him for the reason he wants to cut it off. Just then Angel joined the conversation, and noted that maybe Pere is upset at the moment, because of Maria dancing with other guys at the party.
Angel may have a point, but it seems highly unlikely. If the options were, Pere is upset with Maria for dancing with other guys, or Pere is playing a calculated game, then the latter seems more plausible. Pere has been very calculating since the show began. He’s a contestant who observes and then strikes at the right time, so him telling Maria he wants nothing from her may be a strategy based off a careful observation from Maria’s personality, maybe he has a reason for pulling away, maybe he knows something everyone else is yet to figure out, and maybe, just maybe, he may be capable of offsetting Maria’s balance in the game or maybe he was just drunk and upset, only time will tell.
