Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has been in the eye of the storm following his mention of certain individuals who he purportedly had “long-standing intimate relationship” with. Those mentioned include the widow of the late Biafran warlord, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu; Chioma Anasoh and Adaobi Uchegbu.

Fani-Kayode who has written several articles to buttress his point over the undue encroachment of the Igbos into the South-west region of the country defended his stance saying he could not have been an ethnic bigot if he, at a time in his life, had engaged in intimate relationships with these women.

In a statement signed by Bisi Lawal, Fani-Kayode’s Press Secretary, the former minister “expressed deep regrets for mentioning the names of three distinguished Nigerian ladies that he was once associated with” stating that he meant no harm.

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode hereby expresses his deepest regrets for mentioning the names of three distinguished Nigerian ladies that he was once associated with in his last article titled ”A Word For Those Who Say I am A Tribalist’‘.
He meant no harm by doing so and neither did he at any point make references to having had any sexual relations with any of these ladies when they were associated with him as is being suggested by some members of the public. He was simply trying to emphasise the fact that he has nothing against the Igbo people and that his friendship with these three ladies in particular over the years provided some evidence of that.

For the record he has not seen Madame Chioma Anasoh, Chief Adaobi Kate Uchegbu and Ambassador Bianca Onoh in many years and he admits that it was inappropiate for him to have mentioned their names in the essay, to use them as a point of reference in a public discussion or to make any references whatsoever to the nature of their past association. All references to them have been erased from the updated version of the essay.

Chief Fani-Kayode has reached two of the ladies concerned and he has personally conveyed his unreserved apology to them both and to their families for his indiscretion. He shall endeavour to reach the third lady to do the same in the next few days. Chief Fani-Kayode has nothing more to say on this matter and would prefer to remain focused on issues of national importance and not of a personal nature.

Inflammatory comments and seeing FFK`s deep regrets over his indicrection on those three igbo women are making mistakes as to whether he has capitulated on the rationale and veracity of his claims in his various articles;make no mistakes about that because the message has been and so shall it be.
Honestly as a Nigerian, as a woman, and as someone who knows a bit about his family I am ashamed of Fani Kayode to say the list. I feel pity for him. No FFK didn’t humiliate the noble women whose names he mentioned, he only revealed his need for psychiatric attention- it would only get worse if he isn’t attended to quickly. I personally feel pained for those woman, I feel so pained that a man with his level of exposure would condescend into defaming the character of respectable Nigerian women just to get ‘attention’. He is obviously a spoilt brat who probably was overindulged by his parents growing up and now has to do whatever it takes to ‘prove’ that he is right even if it means destroying people’s homes. I would have called him a fool and an irresponsible man but for the fact that i want to stay as civil as possible for now until we meet. FFK my advice to you is keep your mouth shut for now, you’re becoming a nuisance to your family and the yoruba race, you’ve put them through enough embarrassment.

Now it’s our turn to write on ‘The bitter truth about the Yoruba’s’. 1. They are very tribalistic. 2. They are loud-mouthed, garrulous & loquacious thus they cannot be trusted with secrets. They sure though have good attributes which are vital to nation building but if the igbos have the land mass & privilege they’ve had over the years Nigeria would have been another China by now. Am light years away from ethnocentric mediocrity thus am compelled to ask: who built Lagos & made it what it is today? Was lagos built by the Yoruba? Definitely No! Lagos was built by the Federal Republic of Nigeria, we all built Lagos & Lagos till date remains a microcosm of Nigeria. Such a senseless debate shouldn’t have arisen in the first place if not for ethnocentric mediocrity on the part of some.

FFK, too little too late. The harm has already been made. What this tells me is that he is as flippant as they come. Anybody who talks too much is not to be TRUSTED.
True repentance must be followed by forgiveness!
FFK Stop using drugs, remorse always comes after been high, now you are regretting mentioning their names! We should pray for you while you look for a rehab facility where you will treated for your drug addiction.
