Billionaire, Arthur Eze says Ndigbo owe eternal gratitude and here’s how it was received

Arthur Eze

Billionaire, Arthur Eze, on Monday caused a stir on social media following a statement released by his media consultant, Oliver Okpala.

Stressing on projects like the Akanu Ibiam International Airport and the Second Niger Bridge, he said that the Igbos should be eternally grateful to the President for what he described as a massive provision of infrastructural facilities in the South-East geopolitical zone.

Taking to the microblogging platform, Twitter, many Igbos have reacted to the statement, describing it as ignorant.

Many also pointed out that the businessman must have been paid off by the president to spew such an ‘ignorant statement’.

For those against Arthur, they stressed that an airport and a bridge is not worth for an entire tribe to forever grateful to Buhari as they expressed that the president was elected for office to be responsible for the provision of infrastructures that better the lives of the citizens.

While many Igbo berated him for such a statement, some other Nigerians applauded him and urged critics to respect his freedom of expression even as they shared that Arthur, in the past has been a huge advocate for the interests of Igbo in Nigeria.

Their opinions were however countered by others who held that his statement was derogatory on the ethnic group.
