For scoring 99 per cent in an end of school exam, a 9-year-old Chinese boy punished himself in a very bizarre way by sticking himself with needles.

The boy was said to have stuck four sharp needles into his abdomen out of frustration of missing out on full marks.

According to the boy, he said he rammed the needles because he missed out on the 1% of the test and needed to punish himself to atone.

His father revealed he first noticed lumps on his son’s stomach as he was bathing but could not get a closer look.

Then, several days later, the youngster started suffering crippling stomach pains.

Rushed to The 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, doctors took two hours to remove the needles burrowed inside his stomach.
