Actor Cory Monteith (l., with girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele) was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on Saturday. A toxicology report determined he died of a heroin and alcohol overdose.

“Glee” star Cory Monteith died from a overdose of heroin and alcohol, Canadian officials said Tuesday.

A toxicology test showed the 31-year-old actor “died from a mix of drug toxicity.”

Monteith was found dead at Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel.

“Mr. Monteith’s family has been made aware of the circumstances surrounding the death,’ said Barb McLintock, of the British Columbia Coroner’s Service.

“On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time,” McLintock said.

Monteith, who played singing football player Finn Hudson on the popular FOX show, was found dead in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

Monteith had been public about his battles with drugs, saying in interviews that he began boozing and smoking pot at the age of 13 and entered rehab for the first time when he was 19.

He had just completed his latest stint in rehab in April.
