Breaking News: Man with grenades and ammunition attempts to enter Ministerial forum in Abuja (Updated with Picture)

by Stanley Azuakola

Security operatives have arrested and detained a man who was found with a bag containing grenades and ammunition as he attempted to gain entrance into Radio House, venue of a ministerial forum that was to feature Minister of Information Labaran Maku, Minister of Aviation Stellah Oduah, and Minister of Youth Development Bolaji Abdullahi.

The man, a middle-aged and clean-shaven, who gave his name as John, was handcuffed and taken away by security operatives. He said he was given the bag containing the weapons by a lady who asked him to deliver it to someone in Abuja. Asked why he brought the bag to Radio House, he said that upon realising that the bag contained explosives, he had to bring it to Radio House to pass a message to the woman so she could come and claim the package.

Radio House houses the Federal Ministry of Information, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Voice of Nigeria, and Kapital FM.

The ministerial forum is a month-long event which commenced on March 24, where different ministers in the federal cabinet highlight their achievements in the last one year and respond to questions from members of the public.
