Nigeria’s female football team, the Super Falcons are currently at the gate of the National Assembly protesting the non-payment of their allowances by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The Falcons are yet to be paid their allowances after winning the African Women Championship for the eighth time, defeating hosts Cameroon 1-0 in the final.
The players who wore their national team jersey on shorts carried placards with inscriprtions such as, “We are your heros, our labour should not be in vain”, “We served with all our might, we deserve to be honoured”, “We are your children, daughters. Maken us happy!!!”
