Budget-Padding Tracker: Jibrin complies with APC directive, stops public comments

The former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has put on hold his media war against Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, following the All Progressives Congress directive compelling him to stop further comments on the matter.

Jibrin had alleged that Dogara and three other principal officers padded the 2016 national budget and had launched a full media war on them through his twitter handle, @AbdulAbmj, TV stations and press statements.

Apart from publicising the allegations via his social platforms, Jibrin also submitted a petition accusing Dogara and 12 other members of the House of budget padding to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and related agencies.

The National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress had written a letter to Jibrin on Thursday, asking him to stop further comments on the matter.

The lawmaker has complied, as he has remained silent about the issue on his Twitter page.

His latest tweet was unconnected to the allegations.
