President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday inaugurated the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative (PCNI) at the State House in Abuja.
The committee chaired by General T.Y. Danjuma was tasked by Buhari to discharge it’s duties with dedication, transparency and accountability.
He said his administration was committed to addressing the humanitarian situation in the North-East, as well as working on the resettlement of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
In his remarks, Danjuma said the committee would discharge its duties with professionalism, transparency and accountability.
He disclosed that the Victims Support Fund Committee he chaired under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan had so far received only N23bn out of the N50bn pledged at a fundraising ceremony.
