The Presidency on Thursday said President Muhammadu Buhari would investigate the allegation levelled against Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, The Punch reports.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who stated this in an interview said Buhari will listen to both sides as he is a fair-minded person.
Adesina said, “The SGF has defended himself. The President is very fair minded. He will look at both sides of the matter.”
On Wednesday the Senate called for Lawal’s resignation following a report by an ad-hoc committee on the “mounting humanitarian crisis in the North East” which indicted Lawal for receiving a N233 million contract to clear invasive grass in breach of Nigeria’s code of conduct for public officials as enshrined in the 1999 constitution.
