There are unconfirmed reports that a man simply identified as Rasaki Adedayo has been been caught in the premises of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State allegedly attempting to set up an explosive material.
According to reports, the was caught with what looked like petrol mixed with an unidentified chemical. The students are of the opinion that he was trying to blow up the Awo Hall in the school but this has not been confirmed by the relevant security agencies.
He has, however, been handed him over to security operatives for further interrogation.

Adedayo’s motive is not clear but this brings to mind an explosion which happened at a school building under construction in the Ejigbo area of the state earlier in the week killing two people.
Key members of the Gov. Rauf Aregbesola government had called to question the tragic occurrence pointing accusing fingers at the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which they implied may have had a hand in bringing down the building to score political points.
These allegations are, however, not substantiated as investigations are still ongoing into the Ejigbo school building collapse.
