[The Church Blog] Our favourite music ministers are finally having a soccer match this Sunday

Gospel music ministers

Ever wondered what a soccer match of your favourite music ministers would look like?

Don’t think too far. It’s already here.

You see, 2017 has been quite an eventful year for music ministers and Gospel music generally. Many still haven’t gotten over the testimonies and impact from the Hallelujah Challenge, Gospel concerts like the Experience and of course, the new songs. Oh! we had such great songs.

The music ministers friendly match, which caught us all by surprise seems like a great way to end such a fulfilling year. December is packed with a whole lot of activities and many of us are choked up on events already. But, this one featuring our music ministers is not one to be missed. Apart from the fact that it gives the artistes an opportunity to engage with their community of followers offline, meeting in a non-faith based setting is quite relieving. Our artistes have dwelt so much in the virtual space and this soccer match is nothing short of commendable.

The football match is probably the first of its kind from music ministers but, it conveys a message of the unity and fellowship amongst our Christian music ministers regardless of their different genres. The match is scheduled to hold on Christmas Eve – Sunday 24th December 2017 by 4:30 pm and the National Stadium, The Astroturf, Lagos has been chosen as the venue.

The teams to be engaged in the match have been aptly named – Team Olowogbogboro and Team Unlimited God based on popular hits from Nathaniel Bassey and Olumide Iyun.

The Team Olowogbogboro highlights Nathaniel Bassey, Mike Abdul, Mairo Ese, Folabi Nuel, Sammie Okposo, Eben, George Alao on the top 11.

The Unlimited God team highlights Olumide Iyun, Joe Praize, Onome Obruthe, Paul Chisom, Chiika 100percent, Tosin Alao, Tosin Martins on the top 11.

Pastor Kingsley Okonkowo; Lead pastor of Davids Christian Centre has been announced as the match commissioner; we can bank on total match credibility.

The good part is you don’t have to pick a side. Please, the winning side is our side. Can I hear an Amen? So far, no one has released any customised merchandise for the event; so, come as you are.

This is going to be so much fun.

Who knows? We might have a short time of worship afterwards.
