There’s a video on Youtube about the freed Chibok school girls – the 24 who escaped/were freed before yesterday. It’s titled “Coming Home: The Freedom Story”.
As you watch the compelling 25-minute documentary chronicling the events that led up to the release of 24 of the 0ver 200 abducted girls and wipe away tears of joy from your face, remember that this is a victory for the whole nation.
A victory too for the administration under whose tenure they were released but even when you are tempted to, refuse to accept it as an endorsement of the administration. Just take it for what it is: a video documentation of the slow headway that the country has made in resolving one of the worst attacks on its security till date.
Hope it reminds you of how far we have come.
As of today, 106 of at least 276 are now free. We are nearly halfway there. It’s neither the time to rejoice nor is it the time to become lax while handing out praises.
Still, it’s time to be thankful.
