Coming to a state near you: Information minister, Maku, to begin ‘National Good Governance’ tour next Thursday

by Stanley Azuakola

Nigeria’s informationminister, Labaran Maku, is set to embark on a ‘National Good Governance’ tour. The tour, according to him, is to allow Nigerians participate in the development of the nation.

He said this, while speaking at the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) People’s Forum. Maku explained that the tour is meant to promote accountability and show people the progress of work done in states.

The Good governance tour will begin on Thursday.

Maku said that a lot of development is ongoing in many states of the Federation, but citizens are not even aware. Hence, the purpose of the tour is to reveal the development.

“This tour will help us, you and I to measure progress,” he said.

The tour, according to the minister, is a collaboration between many stakeholders, including the Nigeria Governors Forum.

“I believe our country is heading in the right direction, the direction of change, transformation and progress. This programme is to give people a voice and let people participate in development of the country.”
