Doyin Okupe, former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, has lambasted the people who are out to soil his name.
He took to social media to react to a story published by Premium Times, in which the news platform reported that Okupe collected money from Jonathan, using some companies as payment to hack into ‘unfriendly websites’.
Okupe, who did not take kindly to such reports, took to Twitter to call the wrath of God on all those who are working to defame him and taint his character.
He also asked God to curse him as well, if the allegations raised against him were true.
Okupe wrote on his Twitter page: “I have read the falsehood by Premium Times about me. Before God, who I fear and serve the story is untrue and planted to defame me. I will respond tomorrow. It is a wonderful country where the innocent is disparaged and reputation damaged on the alter of partisanship,”
He further posted: “My prayer for tonight is Jehovah that rules the affairs of men, I beseech you, if I as much have knowledge of what I am accused of by Premium Times let all the curses in Bible be upon me but if I am innocent let your wrath fall on all those who have a hand in this accusation and let it b seen by all.”
He still was not done after his requests to God as he tweeted: “Those who are looking for every opportunity to bring me down and destroy my reputation will fail and be put to shame. The lies in the story are unsustainable.”
He then followed his tweets with “Doyin Okupe vs Premium Times: #TruthShallPrevail” before capping it all of with: “I want to assure all my friends and well wishers that this wicked & deliberate falsehood will not stand. I do not know any of d companies.”
Doyin Okupe also served as special assistant to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo on Media and Publicity.
