Diddy to release ‘last album’ and focus on ‘doing films’

After 26 years in the music business, American hip hop recording artiste –Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has announced that after this last album and tour, he intends to retire from the industry to venture into movie making.

He disclosed this in his latest interview with Cigar Aficionado Magazine.

The entertainer said: “I’m going to put out my last album and devote 100 percent of my time to doing films … I want to stop at a great place.”

He also added that he plans on leaving a solid legacy with his final album, No Way Out 2.

“When I’m gone, only the songs will survive. I know I’m making music that will live on. I don’t go into the studio just to be hot or to hear myself on the radio”, Diddy told the magazine.

“Michael Jackson, Tupac, Biggie – part of them lives on in their music, even though they’re not here anymore. That’s really deep, man. The only thing like that is religion.”

P.Diddy’s sojourn into the music business saw him work as an A&R executive at Uptown Records before founding Bad Boy Records in 1993 where he discovered and signed the late Notorious B.I.G .

His debut album -No Way Out (1997) has been certified seven times platinum and was followed by successful albums such as Forever (1999), The Saga Continues (2001), and Press Play (2006).

In 2009, Combs formed the musical group Diddy – Dirty Money and released the commercially successful album –Last Train to Paris (2010).

Combs has won three Grammy Awards and two MTV Video Music Awards.
