The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Osun State, Gboyega Famoodun, says the opposition party chose Maj.- Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) as its Presidential candidate because of the failure of the country’s younger generation.
Famoodun while expressing his disappointment at the Nigerian youth, stated that representative of the younger generation in President Jonathan’s government have been particularly unimpressive.
The APC chieftain stated this at a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday, February 25, saying that Jonathan’s administration encouraged corruption and looting of treasury.
According to him, this was the reason why former governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Soludo and Sanusi Lamido, lamented the high level of corruption bedeviling the nation.
He said: “General Buhari is 72 and he is active, strong and mentally alert to lead the nation. We are presenting Buhari because of his antecedents and because we have been disappointed by the younger generation especially in the administration of President Jonathan.”
“Mandela came and rule South Africa at 76 and he did very well. The younger generation represented by Jonathan is not helping us. Buhari ruled at his younger days and he helped to salvage the economy. Buhari is a disciplined and forthright person; his detractors can even attest to this,” Famoodun added.
The APC chief said that he his not impressed by the way youths are been carried along in jonathans administration,u are opposition so it will be hard to see and acept what ever the good president is doing,Buhari u know too well that he is not competent ,his first regime u saw that it was idiagbor who was the architect bhind his operations,how many youths did he arrest and detained for carring placards in the streets protesting for the unlawfull detention of politician’s,any body who says he will rule us again should no that,he is sending us back to 100yrs,jonathan have done well in youth development than any other past leaders,including buhari so to me he is what we want and not a tyrant a dictator,a humiliator and a man with out plan and vision,jonathan admistration will soon produce the youngest governor in nigeria,pls be patient….haha
