Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, on Friday, denied claims that the state governor, Chief Nyesom Wike had registered militants as voters in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State.
Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole on Friday had claimed that some South-South governors were trying to disrupt the election.
But Tam-George has denied that Wike donated N2bn for the cause or hired militants, stating that the governor has no link with militants.
“Wike has no links with militants in the (Niger Delta) region and anywhere else in the country.
“He has only given moral support to the PDP candidate in Edo State to overcome the ineptitude and dysfunction the All Progressives Congress imposed on the people,” he said.
