Election scam: Man caught with 586 permanent voter cards

A man has been arraigned for being in possession of 589 permanent voter cards. The 29-year-old man Animashaun Lukmon, was arraigned before a magistrate’s court, sitting in Ikeja, on Monday, December 15, for unlawful possession of the PVC’s.

According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Edet Okoi, Lukmon committed the crime on November 20, at Itire Primary School in Lagos.

The police alleged that Lukmon was caught in possession of 589 pieces of permanent voter cards belonging to various people and some INEC documents.

The charge sheet reads in part: “That you, Animashaun Lukmon, at Itire Primary School, in the Lagos magisterial district, was unlawfully in possession of 589 pieces of permanent voter cards belonging to various people.”

The accused, Lukmon, however, pleaded not guilty to the acclaimed charges and was admitted to bail by the Magistrate, Mrs Dan Oni.
