Selena Gomez silently underwent a kidney transplant

And the other most shocking detail apart from her keeping it secret is that another celebrity was the donor.

25-year-old Selena Gomez shared with her 126 million Instagram followers why was she mostly absent from the spotlight through the summer especially considering she had new songs to promote.

The singer who is currently dating The Weeknd had to go through a kidney transplant that stems from her battle with Lupus.

When Selena needed a donor, her close friend and The Secret Life of the American Teenager actress, Francia Raisa showed up for her by donating a kidney.

Selena touched briefly on her struggle with Lupus, an autoimmune disease she first revealed she was battling in 2014. “Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.”, she said.

 

Apparently, Osagie Alonge owes CKay an apology

In the aftermath of the viral shout match that went down on last week’s episode of Pulse NG’s Loose Talk Podcast, the artiste whose name contributed to the ruckus has asked for an apology.

Ckay is a Choc City artiste and producer who is yet to make the big break and that fact was rubbed in all our faces as Pulse NG’s Osagie Alonge repeatedly poked M.I with the question “Who the f__k is Ckay?”.

In less than 72 hours, the question birthed a 6-track EP with the same title but it appears Ckay still feels slighted by Osagie’s words and he has demanded and simultaneously accepted an apology from the latter.

 

Kendrick Lamar, DJ Khaled and Cardi B top the BET Hip Hop Awards nominees list

The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations list is out.

DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar and newcomer rapper, Cardi B are the most nominated with 9 nods each.

All three will be going up against each other in the Single of the Year, MVP of the Year, Hustler of the Year and Best Hip Hop Video categories, while Lamar and Khaled contend for Album of the Year.

Following not so closely with 5 nominations each are Jay-Z and Chance the rapper in the Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year and Hustler of the Year. Jay-Z’s 4.44 album was also nominated for Album of the Year.

The awards show will take place in Miami on 6 October and will premiere on the BET network on 10 October.

 

Fergie and husband, Josh Duhamel announce split

After 8 years of marriage and a 4-year-old son, Black Eyed Peas female vocalist, Fergie and her actor husband, Josh have separated.

The couple made it known in a joint statement released yesterday which read, “With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family.”

The couple still publicly expressed love for each in January when they celebrated their 8th year anniversary. Josh also posted a photo of Fergie in June.
