Ese Oruru, the teenage girl who was allegedly abducted from her home in Bayelsa and taken to Kano, where she was forcefully married to- Yinusa Yellow, is reported to be about ‘5 months pregnant’.
Vanguard reports that the white Hijab she wore over her dress from Kano to Abuja on Tuesday, was used to conceal the pregnancy.
The report states that Police authorities made the discovery after she was handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit and a team from the Medical Department of the Force for a comprehensive medical examination at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki.
It was further reported tat after certifying her medical status and emotional state, Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase offered to have Ese and her mother flown to Yenegoa, Bayelsa, by air.
In spite of this report, the police spokesperson, Olabisi Kolawole was quoted by Punch Newspapers to have said the Force is yet to get the medical report.
“It is the result that would show the medical condition of the teenager and for now, the report is not ready, so it is unfair to speculate that Ese is pregnant when the result of the medical examination has not been released to us,” she said.
