From the dusty planes of Kano to the rain-drenched streets of Lagos, it has been a game-changing election season, unlike anything the country has seen since the early days of our return to civilian rule. There is no doubt in the fact that since Nigeria returned to democracy 16 years ago, there has not been a presidential race as fiercely contested and as exciting as the 2015 presidential elections. The All Progressives’ Congress (APC) rekindled a fire in Nigeria and engaged a nation in a whole new way.
The APC’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo ran a colourful campaign that covered the length and breadth of the country. From rallies, to street campaigns, town hall meetings to intimate meetings it was all captured in pictures taken by Bayo Omoboriowo.
Presented by StateCraft Inc., a governance and political communications firm that handled the campaign, here is 100 Faces of Change, a series of pictures that captures the best of the highlights of the Buhari campaign.
