Well, you’d heard the rumours, and it’s been many months in coming – but finally, singer, songwriter and actress, Omawumi Megbele, has confirmed the news: it’s a girl!
YNaija had broken the news earlier today of the delivery of her baby in the United States following an ‘It’s a girl!’ Blackberry display picture, and a status update that read “A child is God’s reward – Psalm 127:3b. Welcome sweetie!”
“I’m so excited I have delivered,” she announced excitedly in a statement released by her public relations representatives. “It’s always fulfilling for me when I achieve a milestone in my life.” The baby, whom she described as a “pretty bundle of joy” was delivered at Rockdale Medical Center in Atlanta.
Speculation about Ms. Megbele’s pregnancy had reached fever pitch from as early as January, when many swore that she was ‘heavy’ in her hot video “If you ask me” as well as in a cover shoot for Genevieve magazine, however Omawumi continued her tradition of keeping her personal life private until absolutely necessary and left the country to tend to the unborn child away from the media glare.
Showing that her spunk is still intact post-delivery, Oma (as she is fondly called) shared a bit of labour room tit-bit: “You know the whole story that once you deliver all the pain goes away,” she said. “That’s a lie! But when I heard her cry and held her in my arms, I felt so thankful and in awe of God’s awesomeness! Baby and mama are fine, great actually. And we feel soo good!”
So do we Oma, so do we!
