Microsoft is expected to announce its next flagship Operating System, Windows 9, next week at the September 30 press event.

The September 30th event has been described by Microsoft as “what’s next for Windows [including] information geared toward technical and enterprise customers”.

Alain Crozier, Microsoft France President, said on Tuesday that the company would reveal “Windows 9” next week.

Although Microsoft are being discreet about the September 30 event, with the number of leaked screen-shots and videos over the last several weeks, it’s highly unlikely that Windows 9 isn’t the topic of conversation –

As for the name of the operating system, there’s been some speculation that Microsoft may ditch the use of numbers (e.g Windows “7”, Windows “8”) scheme and adapt “Windows,” solely.
