This is why Fani-Kayode is still with the EFCC

Despite getting bail from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, embattled former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode is still in the custody of the agency after failing to meet his bail conditions.

Meanwhile, the agency, wanting to keep Fani-Kayode in their custody for much longer has applied for a remand warrant for the former minister.

The warrant which was obtained on Tuesday, May 10 “is to enable EFCC operatives to conduct proper investigation into how he got the money, what it was used for and who the beneficiaries were,” according to some sources.

Fani-Kayode was invited to the EFCC headquarters, an invitationhe honoured on Monday, May 9 to explain his involvement in an alleged N2.5 billion illegally taken from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

According to findings, N840 million was transferred to Fani-Kayode of the total sum for the campaign of former president Goodluck Jonathan.

Fani-Kayode was the publicity secretary of Jonathan’s campaign in the 2015 general elections.
