FG should empower Nigerian youth – Ooni

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has urged the Federal Government to empower youths in the country to reduce the insecurity.

The Ooni, who spoke through the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Moses Olafare, said this in Ile Ife, Osun State on Wednesday.

He said, “His Imperial Majesty has engaged youths in construction and agricultural activities and there has been drastic reduction in crime rate in Ile-Ife and its environs because of these activities.

“All activities being organised to mark this one-year anniversary would be tailored towards getting more youths engaged. The federal and state governments should do more to empower the teeming youths. This will reduce the problem of insecurity and militancy.”

Olafare said the organisers of “O ti seese Carnival, 2016,” to mark the first anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Oba Ogunwusi said it would attract a million people.
