The Federal Government has filed more charges against Supreme Court justice, Sylvester Ngwuta, increasing it from six to 15.

Ngwuta was one of those whose houses were raided by operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) on October 9 on allegations of corruption.

He is being accused of violating various sections of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2012 (as amended) including Section 15 (2) (d) in the new charges.

Ngwuta was alleged to have been found in possession of N35, 358, 000.00 contrary to the Money Laundering ( Prohibition) Act 2011 (as amended).

Several sums of cash were allegedly recovered including N35.3 million, $319,596, £25,915 pounds sterling and €280.

Operatives also discovered four diplomatic passports, one official and two standard Nigerian passports with the defendant.

He was alleged to have made false statement about his date of birth in order to procure another diplomatic passport.

Recall that Ngwuta had alleged that he was arrested because he failed to alter Supreme Court rulings for Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
