FG importing foreigners to testify against me – Kanu

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi KANU has alleged that the Federal Government is importing people from nearby countries to testify against him in court.

KANU and three others accused of treasonable felony were denied bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja citing that the charges against them were unbailable.

Counsel to the Federal Government, Labaran Shuaibu asked the court to allow him mask his witnesses.

Shuaibu stated that the lives of the witnesses were not safe if their identity were known.

However, one of Kanu’s lawyers, Maxwell Okpara said the Federal Government was planning to import Ghanaians and Cameroonians to testify against his client.

“My lord, we have uncovered their plan to bring Ghanaians and people from Cameroon

to appear in this court to testify against the defendants,” he said.

“We as Nigerians will resist that plot. It cannot work. That is why they are insisting that

they should testify behind screen. That plot has failed, it will not work.”

Justice Nyako adjourned the case till December 13.
