FG launches housing schemes for civil servants

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday formally inaugurated a comprehensive housing scheme for federal workers in Abuja.

Buhari who was represented by the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shehu at the ceremony tagged “Federal Civil Servants Housing Scheme” declared that the scheme would afford workers the leverage to optimise their service output.

He said the government would be targeting about 5000 housing units in all the states within three years.

“I therefore urge the workers to re-dedicate themselves to service and contribute to good governance. This government is committed to workers welfare”, Buhari stated.

Chairman of the occasion and President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, represented by its Executive Director, Mansur Ahmed, said the government and the organised private sector must “continue to collaborate not only to build structure, but to also build other national values and maintain existing structures to stimulate national development.”

According to him, if the civil service works, other institutions would also work well.
