FG still negotiating for release of Chibok girls – Osinbajo

by Azeez Adeniyi

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has said the Federal Government is still negotiating for the release of the Chibok girls abducted by terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Mr. Osinbajo made this known on Tuesday evening at an interaction with journalists and activists at the state house in Abuja.

Osinbajo expressed hope that the dialogue would yield the desired results.

“There is a lot of negotiation going on,” he said.

The vice president hinted that one of the challenges of freeing the girls was the existence of two factions in Boko-Haram, with each faction holding on to some of the girls.

He said the present administration was committed to the freedom of the girls.

“It is a matter of conscience and it’s a matter that concerns everyone,” he said.
