Sure, Road To Yesterday opened to mixed reviews in 2015. And even though it went on to win big at the 2016 AMVCA, clinching the Best West African movie trophy, the overall impression is that the movie came and went without much impact.
That may be true to some extent, but we’re still excited for what Genevieve Nnaji is getting up to next. She’s Genevieve, after all.
This new film – which it appears she’s producing through her The Entertainment Network (TEN) outfit, like Road To Yesterday – is called Lionheart. No word yet on what role Genevieve herself will be playing in the film, however.
The official Instagram account for the film is also littered with scenic shots of beautiful landscapes in Enugu State, where it appears the film is being shot. So, at the very least, we know this will be visually impressive.
*An earlier version of this post incorrectly listed CJ Obasi as the director of the film.
