Ivanka Trump pitches tax plan to Pennsylvania voters

First daughter and senior White House adviser Ivanka Trump on Monday sold her father’s tax plan to about 250 swing voters in Pennsylvania’s Bucks County. She is equally expected to tape a tax-centered interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity after the event.

In her pitch at the town hall event, Ivanka said: “There are many elements squarely targeted at creating jobs creating growth and offering relief to our middle-income families”.

Prior to her Pennsylvania outing, Ivanka has been actively involved in the administration’s effort to restructure the tax code, and also engaged with GOP Sens. Marco Rubio, Fla., and Mike Lee, Utah, on a plan to expand the child tax credit and increase its refundable portion.

“If we don’t do it, there will be no tax relief for working families,” Rubio said during a round of radio interviews last week, arguing that the easiest way to benefit middle-class American families is through child tax credit expansion.

However, GOP lawmakers are still battling with the presentation of a tax bill capable of attracting Democratic votes, and are yet to settle on a figure for expanding the child tax credit, or confirm its inclusion in the upcoming tax package.
