‘The Making’ is a scheme with the objective of bringing to the limelight young budding designers. These young people will work with experienced designers and stylists in a once in a lifetime opportunity, as well as interact with business development managers in order to broaden their entrepreneurial skills.

The scheme will come in form of a TV Show which will be aired on Saturdays on Urban Spice on Spice TV and Page3 on STV (Sundays 2pm and Tuesdays 9pm). It will show in depth, what is required to take fashion designing to the next level.

Ten designers have been selected based on the following criteria.

• STYLE
• CREATIVITY
• TASTE
• BUSINESS PLAN AND FOCUS
• DEPTH OF INPUT

The designers who are judged to have the most creative, cutting edge and innovative designs will have their collections shot for free for a duration of ten weeks, with the support of A-list models, stylists, makeup artists and the media.

After that, the mentoring phase begins with seasoned fashion professionals such as Omoyemi Akerele, Jewel By Lisa’s Lisa Folawiyo, CEO Mobos Fashion Mobowale Biobaku, Mania Magazine Editor Dimeji Alara, Genevieve Magazine Fashion Editor Mai Atafo & Ezinne Chinkata of WOW Magazine. These ones will share their wealth of knowledge with the young designers as they evaluate them during the assessment period and give support in helping to get stockists for their collections.

All the designers will also get the opportunity to display their designs at the famous monthly Le Petit Marche. More information can be viewed on the project site at www.themaking.com.ng
