Former President, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida has been receiving visitors since his return from Europe after a two-month medical leave, one of them is Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo was in Minna, Niger State on Tuesday to pay Babangida a visit at his hilltop mansion hours after former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar made the same trip.
Reports from The Nation Newspapers, however, indicate that both leaders, who cannot be described as best of friends, met at the Minna International Airport and gave each other a rare hug.
The Nation gathered that Obasanjo was in Minna to visit the recuperating Babangida, while Atiku who had visited the former military president was in the town to attend the presidential declaration of Sam Nda-Isaiah of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Obasanjo, who arrived in a plane with registration number – GDOUR along with Senator Andy Uba, Chief Ayo Fashawe and a unidentified lady at about 4:30pm was about to be conveyed to Babangida’s house when his attention was drawn to the presence of Atiku at the airport.
The former vice president who was already seated, awaiting clearance for his flight, stopped the pilot, alighted and headed straight to the car ferrying Obasanjo out of the airport and the two leaders hugged each other.
A black BMW car with registration number – ABJ 01 RJ then took Obasanjo to the uphill residence of the former military president in company of IBB’s son, Mohammed Babangida.
You will recall that Obasanjo had only weeks ago warned a group of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders led by former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu against allowing Atiku become its flagbearer in the 2015 elections.
Get well soon, Nigeria Maradona(IBB). Good to see both men in warm embrace after years of so many disagreement. This is really a sign of good things.

Well all I can say concerning this, is that it amazes me on how this two elders statesmen get along. I mean week ago, this two were like Cat and Dog and all of a sudden they are back again. Nonetheless,i must commend them for displaying maturity. Despite, what had transpired between them over the years they were able to put away their differences for the time being at least and exchange pleasantries.
