A turbulent wave of accusations appear to keep crashing down on popular Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele’s doorstep. In what seems to be a stroke of bad luck or a result of her erroneous actions, Akindele is yet again gracing the headlines for the wrong reasons.

“Jenifa” had just recently exited the thralls of an indictment after a video of a birthday bash for her husband graced by celebrities like Naira Marley went viral. She was taken to court on the charge of running against the lockdown laws of the state at the time and was instructed by the court to pay a fine as well as sentenced to community service for her offences. 

The latest publicity crisis facing the star are accusations on social media that she maltreats her employees. 

A twitter user, @_yinxx_ released a series of statements on Monday declaring that Funke had consistently abused her employees and her friend happened to be one of them. She said the aforementioned friend had earlier spoken about her experience on her YouTube channel but Funke’s team had allegedly reported the page till it was taken down. She goes further to say that they are not dismayed and would continue to speak on the injustices they faced at the hands of the Nigerian actress. 

My friend @khassie_ worked with Funke Akindele for 1 year and she abused her and her colleagues emotional, verbally and physically. She spoke about it on her channel a month ago and Funke's rats reported her page till YouTube took it down.

Soon, a handful of Nigerians rose up corroborating the accounts of abuse at the hands of Akindele. Some narrated instances in which she had refused to comply with the agreed pay, resulted in exerting physical violence and verbally abusing her employees as well.

Funke Akindele will sack you and not pay for the months you worked. So Petty that she will block or unfollow you on all social media platforms.

People opined as the cases rose, that it seemed unlikely that the many similar accounts levied against her would be untrue. They concluded that where there is smoke there is usually fire, and so there has to be an iota of truth to the story.

Contrary opinions rose to the occasion, with many declaring that the accusations came from malicious mouths. They declared that everyone has bad dealings with their bosses and that it is the normal order of things.

As Nigerians continue to speculate, Funke Akindele is yet to respond to any of these accusations.
