Gernot Rohr reacts to new contract proposed by Amaju Pinnick – 5 Things that Should Matter Today

Nigerian Senior Men’s Football team manager, Gernot Rohr, has replied Nigerian Football Federation boss, Amaju Pinnick after the NFF supremo went on live TV to discuss Rohr’s new contract proposal and conditions.

In an Instagram Live conversation with Veteran Sports journalist, Colin Udoh, Rohr said: “My philosophy is not to speak publicly about these things. I saw, like you, what was said on social media, but I can’t comment. “Already, I’ve spent more time in Nigeria over the past three years. All my players, except one, plays abroad.”

Rohr added that he’s received offers over a coaching job but his first priority is to continue coaching the Super Eagles, saying money is not a deciding factor.

Commissioner for Health in Lagos says COVID-19 in Lagos is seemingly under control

The Commissioner for Health in Lagos, Professor Akin Abayomi, has said that the Coronavirus outbreak is seemingly under control in the state. Professor Abayomi said this at a press briefing yesterday.

”From our data which we publish from time to time, we always talk about the curve but if I put it in simple terms, we are only seeing between 5 and 10 new cases everyday. which suggests that the outbreak is seemingly under control in Lagos state. If it was out of control, it would be seeing increasing number of cases on a daily basis. So whatever we are doing in Lagos is working,” he said.

Buhari grants pardon to 2600 prisoners

The Federal Government has granted amnesty to no fewer than 2,600 inmates as part of measures to decongest prison facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Kogi lifts ban on religious gatherings

The Kogi state government has lifted the ban on religious gatherings he imposed on the state on March 20th. The ban was imposed as part of efforts to prevent the importation of the ravaging Coronavirus in the state. The state has not recorded any case of the viral disease.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo and released yesterday, said lifting of the ban was to enable religious bodies to resume their normal worship and services.
