Rhys Williams is out of the 2014 Commonwealt Games, after he failed a drugs test at the Glasgow Grand Prix on July 11.
The Welsh 400m hurdler says he is “devastated” and claims he did not knowingly take any banned substance.
Williams’ A and B samples both tested positive and he has been banned from all competition by UK Anti-Doping, pending a hearing.
“As a professional athlete, I have always supported and have been an advocate of clean sport,” Williams, who was European champion in 2012, said.
