Ghanaian psychiatrist sacked in the UK for recommending of T.B Joshua’s Emmanuel TV to patient

According to Daily Mail UK, Dr Julius Awakame; a Ghanaian psychiatrist who was working for the North Essex Partnership Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom lost his job recently after recommending Emmanuel TV; the 24 hour television station of popular Nigerian pastor T.B Joshua to a patient.

The 50 year-old doctor gave this advise during his consultation with the lady patient on January 23, 2014 at a health centre in Harwich, Essex after which he had diagnosed her of having a history of ‘satanic ritual abuse’.

The newspaper reports that he told the lady that her problems were far beyond ‘regular treatment’ therefore she should watch Emmanuel TV as he himself had witnessed people being healed on the station. He then added she should call the church in Lagos and request that ‘some nice holy water’ should be sent to her in the UK.

However a fellow nurse colleague named Martin Rowe who the patient had disclosed this to, confronted the doctor if she was indeed possessed, which the medic replied: ‘She may well be’ and claimed she had been thrown out of her local church due to her condition, the newspaper reported.

Awakame has been found guilty of misconduct charges by a medical tribunal in the UK and could face serious disciplinary measures.
