Governor Wike reveals details of ‘private meeting’ with Buhari

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on May 16, had a private meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Prior to now, details of what was discussed at the meeting wasn’t known and news reported thus far on the matter, were at best, speculative.

Two weeks after the meeting, Wike has revealed that he told the President that his administration would tackle cultism and insecurity in the four local government areas of the state.

Speaking on Monday, in Port Harcourt during a town hall meeting tagged, “Accounting for Governor Nyesom Wike’s Administration: One Year After,” the Governor said he assured the President that he would combat insecurity in Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East, Ahoada-West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas.

“Measures have been put in place to tackle cultism across the state. When I met with the President, I told him that we would tackle cultism and insecurity in the four local government areas.”

“They are Abua/Odual, Ahoada-East, Ahoada-West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas,” the governor added.
