Great news: Kidnapped Archbishop Kattey finally freed

The Nigerian Anglican congregation can now heave a sigh of relief as its previously kidnapped Archbishop has been released.

Archbishop Ignatius C.O Kattey was abducted along with his wife, Beatrice, at about 11:30pm on the 6th of September around the Aleto bridge, Eleme in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State. His wife was later released.

According to reports, Kattey, the Dean of the Anglican Communion in Nigeria, was set free yesterday night.

Venerable Israel Omisioni, the Archdeacon of Eleme Archdeaconry of the Anglican Communion of the Diocese Niger Delta North confirmed that the Second in Command to the Primate suddenly walked into his compound at Alode Eleme in Eleme local Government Area of Rivers State.

In the hierarchy of the Anglican Communion, ArchBishop Kattey who was made a Dean of Anglican Communion in Nigeria about a year ago, is next to the Primate, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh.

Archbishop Kattey was supposed to host the Conference of Standing Committee of Province of Nigeria Anglican Communion at St Peters Deanery, Yenagoa, where over 1000 Anglican faithful; Archbishops, Bishops and other top hierarchy of over 20million of Anglican faithful would take decision that affects the well being of all Anglicans.
