What is happening with legislation is unacceptable – Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump Friday, said it was unacceptable that Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and fellow Senate GOPs were unable to pass legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act in recent weeks.

“What happened, in my opinion, last week is unacceptable,” Trump said when asked about Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare while addressing reporters in Bedminster, N.J., on Friday, Politico reports.

The president, who has repeatedly attacked McConnell for his failure to push the GOP’s major legislative items through the Senate since he became President, again cast the Republicans’ inability to fulfill their longstanding promise to take down former President Barack Obama’s signature health care law as a failure.

“People have been talking about repeal-and-replace for seven years, long before I ever decided to be doing what I’m doing,” Trump said. “Seven years they’ve been talking repeal-and-replace and it didn’t happen. And not only didn’t happen, it was a surprise, and it was a horrible surprise.”

The president added that he was “not impressed” by congressional efforts on health care.

He also tweeted, “Can you believe that Mitch McConnell, who has screamed Repeal & Replace for 7 years, couldn’t get it done. Must Repeal & Replace ObamaCare!”
