‘He tore her clothes and…’: Man arrested for raping neighbour’s wife in Ogun

A 25-year-old man in Ogun has been arrested by police in the state and charged over allegations of rape.

Azeez Kilani, is said to have assaulted his neighbour’s wife and had forceful sexual intercourse with her.

The suspect was arraigned and charged with the offence before a Magistrate court sitting in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The Tribune reports:

 

The prosecutor, Augustine Ozimini, told the court that Kilani, who resides at No. 6, Olowu Street, Sapon, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital committed the offence on January 25.

Ozimini said the accused went to his neighbour’s home under the pretext that he wanted to see the victim’s husband.

“Kilani, on learning that her husband was not at home made sexual advances at her which she resisted, He then hit her, tore her clothes and raped her brutally,’’ he said.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 351 and 357 of the Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. The magistrate, Emmanuel Adekunte, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till March 7.
