A 50-year-old Chicago man has been arrested for having sex with a pit bull while visiting an animal care facility.

Gerardo Perez was charged by police with having sexual conduct with an animal, and burglary. Perez was arrested at his home Friday after he and a group took a tour of the Chicago Animal Care and Control Facility last week, according to the Chicago Tribune. Bail was set at $80,000

Prosecutors said that Perez was found in a cage with a white and grey pit bull by an employee after the suspect entered a restricted area of the facility.

He was allegedly on his hands and knees on the side of the dog, appearing to have just had sex with the animal, prosecutors said.

Perez then made “inculpatory statements” regarding the sexual conduct with the dog to other employees on the scene. The burglary charge stemmed from Perez allegedly being in a restricted part of the facility.
