Naira Marley is currently in the news cycle following the acquisition of a new house in his name. On his Instagram story, the beleaguered artist shared the photo of a luxurious house in Lekki as he also thanked the house seller, Abu Abel, expressing that he now has five houses to his name.

While the news hit social media, many have taken to the microblogging platform, Twitter, to explore what the news means to them as they drew attention to some certain controversies that surround the artist.

Reacting to this update a hung chunk of his fans, Marlians, celebrated the singer as they also wished him more wins in his endeavors. Marlians also pointed out that many Nigerians have in the past tagged Naira Marley a fraudster as they shared their ideas about the singer that showed otherwise.

While congratulations poured in for the singer, a few others are expressing how his success may lead to a wave of issues as it concerns social rectitude. Stressing the controversies that follows the singer, his ‘No Moral’ standard and the idea that his fans are expected to live recklessly and mannerless, some have shared that this progress for the singer, may be disastrous for the society.

A few others pointed out that Naira Marley has leveraged on his digital sales to get to the point where he can afford to buy houses even owning up to five of them as they shared that there may not be anything shady about the singer.

While the singer was charged for fraud, with bail granted at 2 million Naira, he is also set to revisit the courtroom at a later date in October. Marley’s new property acquisition could also be a fresh motive for anti-corruption agency EFCC to begin another media witch hunt, or strengthen the preexisting case against him.
