Nigeria Twitter has a track record of bringing to awareness on many issues of concern, initiating conversations on them and ensuring they are thoroughly discussed.
On Twitter this morning, the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu is trending, and while a few ideas may come to mind as to why he would trend at a time like this, many are drawing our attention to his updated statement on Hushpuppi’s arrest in Dubai.
In same vein, a huge number of people are also talking about a letter from the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to the President, accusing Magu of insubordination and diversion of recovered looted funds.
Magu said he "recovered N504 billion, but lodged N543 billion in the Recovery Account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)," 39 billion more than he declared! Liars & short memory.

On the first issue bothering on the arrest of self-acclaimed real estate mogul, Ray Hushpuppi, many are calling him out for his earlier statement where is reported to have said that the EFCC has no business with the ‘Instagram Big Boy,’ only to recant his statement after a ‘wanted’ tag was placed on him.
For those who can see… You’d have noticed that the @officialEFCC is the most confused failed institution in the history of global civilization. Here’s what they claimed at first…??https://t.co/PeulmOseG4

Many who stressed on this, pointed out that there seems to be some foul play and politics surrounding the issue of Huspuppi in Nigeria, as they advised Magu to also ‘deal’ with corrupt leaders in the country.
We have the likes of Obasa, sitting next to you, you won't do jack. But! On live TV, Magu said it is the FBI and not Nigerian authority, now he has a case to answer all of a sudden? This copy copy style isn't working. Start from those around you first. https://t.co/o1jFprXHdT

So the word according to our AGF Malami is that our EFCC boss must be a magician cos despite disclosing a total recovery of N504 billion, lodged N543 billion in the Recovery Account with the CBN. That's N39 billion more than he initially declared.
Who wants to invest with Magu? pic.twitter.com/RKzLrN4cVn

2/Malami, in a memorandum the President, anchored his recommendation on several grounds, "ranging from diversion of recovered loot to insubordination and misconduct" by Magu, THISDAY has learnt.

On the other hand, the Attorney-General had noted among other concerns, that there are discrepancies in the declared amount of recovered looted funds by the EFCC domicilled with the CBN, with a piece of advice to the President that Magu be investigated and fired.
AGF, Abubakar Malami accuses EFCC boss of diversion of recovered loot, insubordination: says Magu reckless, liability to anti-corruption war
Was he not a liability when he boldly asserted b4 d world that COVID-19 was caused by corruption?
The rotten egg is about to b smashed!

Like Kettle calling Pot black..
This bedroom fight of scavengers in Power is all shades of funny. We are at that time in Nigeria that I wish we could also write to someone somewhere, to remove

Buhari's Men of Integrity will be dragging themselves to the market square soon. *Malami is already throwing tantrums. *Magu will be coming with a RPG. pic.twitter.com/0E9vIYIYTV

Why is Ibrahim Magu desperately in need of a whitewash and planning to spend a whopping N300million for media blitz? This indeed won’t save him. He is already in the U.S watchlist over Abacha loot. Magu has not been able to account for Trillions recovered. He looted the loots!

A number of people agree with Malami and others also disagree with the ‘AGF.’
No Magu should stay. It seems Magu has your hidden story? Magu cannot just go. The 8th Assembly rejected Magu. Even DSS wrote against him. You and your sai baba decided to ignore every call to remove him. Why now? Is he writing a story on you? What has gone wrong? https://t.co/93kEYVdFbT

While a huge number of Twitter users were in support of the AGF, others tried ‘robing’ the President into the issue of the looted money, stressing that the EFCC and the Minister were appointed by him and he had vouched for them as being steadfast and honest in many ways.
However, neither the EFCC nor Magu is yet to react to the letter from the Minister of Justice to the President.
