The management of the hotel in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, where Cynthia Osokogu was allegedly killed have sacked all the members of staff on duty on the day of the murder.

According to the management of Cosmilla Hotel, located at Lake View Estate, Amuwo Odofin, the members were sacked because they breached security protocol of the hotel.

Reports say the alleged killers, Echezona Nwabufor and Ezekiel Nnechuwu Olisa Eloka, checked in with fake identity cards and the staff also did not bother to demand for the victim’s identity which made it difficult to identify her body after the crime.

The victim and her alleged killers became friends on Facebook, they saw an opportunity to attack and steal money from her when she told them she was coming to Lagos. They met her at the Murtala Mohammed Airport and checked her into an hotel where they raped and killed her.

According to the Lagos State commissioner of Police, Umar Abubakar Manko, the suspects were nabbed by detectives who used the Close Circuit TV (CCTV) footage provided by the hotel where the alleged crime took place.

Also used was the call logs which revealed the exchange of phone calls and messages between both suspects and Cynthia, their victim.

Twenty-three SIM cards, several debit cards, and multiple identity cards were said to have been recovered from the suspects by the police.

It is suspected that the arrested men might be serial offenders with the coming forward of others who claimed to have had a similar experience to that of the late Cynthia Osokogu.
