How robbers raided and carted away money at Wapa Bureau de Change – Police

The Kano State police command yesterday narrated in detail how armed robbers invaded the Wapa Bureau de change at Fagge on Tuesday carting away large sums of money from the traders.

The Kano Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majiya, said the robbers disguised as customers before launching their attack on the operators.

The robbers reportedly gained access into the area and walked into the business areas posing as customers. Majiya noted that the Wapa Bureau de change is not a conventional market is not a conventional market as it was  made up of residential houses.

According to Majiya, “They quietly entered and locked the house where transaction was going on and subsequently trekked to where they parked their motor cycle and Golf car and melted into the nooks and crannies of Fagge Quarters.

“Immediately after the robbery, they fired in the air to scare people away and make good their escape.”
