I was not involved in suspension of Ekiti lawmaker – Fayose

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose has said he was not involved in the in the suspension of a former chairman of Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Gboyega Aribisogan.

Aribisogan was suspended for 180 legislative days for alleged anti-party activities.

Fayose at a Juma’ah service in commemoration of of the second anniversary of his government on Friday said the executive had no business with internal politics of the legislative.

Fayose said, “I don’t believe we have any crisis in the Assembly. How can you be talking about crisis just because a lawmaker was suspended? Let me also clarify that all that happened started and ended with the Assembly. I had no hands in it.

“How can they be saying I was involved just because a lawmaker was punished for wrong behaviour? Governance could only run very well when people are loyal; but when disloyalty becomes the order of the day, then government becomes something else.”
