A 30-year-old serial rapist, Umar Mohammed, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, in Jigawa.
The suspect, Mohammed, a resident of Sakwaya village in Dutse Local Government Area, has been accused of breaking into people’s homes to rape their wives.
NSCDC officials revealed that the accused person confessed to habitually breaking into people’s houses in the area at midnight to forcibly rape housewives.
While parading the man before the press in his office on Monday, 17 November, Commandant of the Corps, Dr. Muhammad Gidado disclosed that he had received several complaints about late night rape cases.
Gidado revealed that the suspect had admitted to jumping through perimeter fencing to break into homes, not to steal, but with the aim of raping women.
The commandant added that Mohammed would be arraigned in court on completion of investigation into the matter.
